Capital offers business banking for startups, featuring: balances, transaction enrichment, payments, debit cards, and team management with scope-based permissions.
In addition to banking, Capital provides fundraising tools allowing founders to raise money on SAFE contracts, which are executed on-platform, with automatic funds flow over ACH, wire, or USDC.
I hired and managed a team of 8 software engineers and also managed 1 product designer. We used best practices, such as standardized career ladders and had a 24/7 on-call rotation. My team had a 100% retention rate.
I architected our backend stack, a monolithically deployed Kotlin/Micronaut app, built with Bazel to allow us to enforce separation of concerns. For persistence, we use Postgres and Redis. We also have GCP Pub/Sub for event processing, structured logging, and tracing with OpenTelemetry.
On the frontend, we use a native iOS app written in SwiftUI and web app built with Sveltekit. Backend communication is over REST with an OpenAPI spec and automatically generated client API libraries generated.
Our development process includes industry-standard best practices, including: code reviews, linting, unit and API testing, CI (with incremental builds), and CD to staging and production environments with containerized, immutable deployments.
Onboarded thousands of companies and facilitated $20mm+ in fundraising volume.
Investing platform for private commercial real estate deals, regulated by FINRA and SEC. Also includes ancilary features, like high-yield consumer bank accounts for investors.
We also built a secondary marketplace (regulated as an Alternative Trading System and Qualified Matching Service) to allow investors to sell to other platform users. We moved 100s of millions of USD moved over wire and ACH per year.
I was responsible for the investor experience team and its supporting technologies, including onboarding, settings, legal entities, KYC, secondary marketplace, internal Ops apps, and our frontend platform.
Over the course of my time at Cadre, I managed over 20 individual contributors (5-10 at any one time). I was intimately involved with building our career framework and supervised multiple SWE promotions, as well as some performance management interventions. I also oversaw 2 designers.
